BK Fulton is a modern renaissance man, seasoned executive, and award-winning media entrepreneur with a proven record of building commercially successful ventures across business, entertainment, publishing, and live theater. Guided by a belief in authentic expression, moral leadership, innovation, and high integrity, BK has become one of the most prolific independent media entrepreneurs in America.
Many first came to know BK as a former President of Verizon, but following his retirement from corporate leadership in 2015, he transitioned fully into media production and creative entrepreneurship. Since then, he has produced more than 20 films, authored or produced 19 books, and helped produce four number-one Broadway shows.
His Broadway credits include The Piano Lesson starring Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington, and Danielle Brooks. The production became the highest-grossing revival in Broadway history and earned multiple Tony Award nominations as well as a Netflix release. BK also served on the producing teams for The Wiz and The Outsiders, the latter winning four Tony Awards, including Best Musical and becoming the first Broadway production since 2022 to achieve profitability.
BK’s work spans film, television, publishing, and theater. HBO Max and Warner Bros. released MoviePass, MovieCrash, a documentary chronicling his MoviePass business venture, which was named one of Rolling Stone’s Best Documentaries of 2024. In 2026, BK produced W.E.B. Du Bois: Rebel With A Cause, featuring Viola Davis, Common, Courtney B. Vance, and Jeffrey Wright. In 2027, he is slated to release Lions of the Sea, an epic adventure film produced alongside Oscar winners Adam Leipzig, Meredith Blake, and Jim Sheridan. The film centers on the power of a mother’s love and serves as a natural successor to the acclaimed March of the Penguins.
BK’s creative portfolio also includes the popular Mr. Business children’s book series, currently under consideration for film adaptation.
Beyond entertainment, BK and his wife, Jacquelyn E. Stone, are philanthropists committed to developing young entrepreneurs and expanding access to global leadership opportunities for emerging talent.
A native of Hampton, Virginia, BK is a proud graduate of Virginia Tech, Harvard University and the New School as a Sloan Fellow, and New York Law School. His academic studies span engineering, architecture, policy analysis, and intellectual property law.
He is a recipient of the prestigious Smithsonian Laureate’s Medal, where his writings and work are permanently archived at the Smithsonian. His honors also include recognition as a Business Leaders History Maker, the Oscar Micheaux Award for Excellence in Filmmaking, the Renaissance Award in Media, and a National Book Award in nonfiction.
BK currently serves on numerous corporate, nonprofit, and cultural boards, including the Central Region Airport Commission, TowneBank, VA250/Virginia Commemorations Inc., the Library of Virginia, the Lewis Latimer House, and the Richard Hunt Legacy Foundation. He previously served as the founding Director of Technology Programs & Policy for the National Urban League.
His professional affiliations include the Producers Guild of America, the Writers Guild of America, the Executive Leadership Council, the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, and the Business Leaders Hall of Fame.
BK and Jackie have three sons.
